"Dance the dance you dance, don't dance the dance people who dance, dance." ~Platypus the Wise
All I need is a kitten and then to train it to do this and then we will love each other forever because I can be on my computer and he/she will be on my charger and will not bother. Every one wins. I have cracked the code.
I’m about to go on a rant so if you don’t want to read it keep scrolling.
Alright, I’m sick of all of the expectations from home, school, boys and just society in general. Allow me to elaborate:
Home) You have to get all A’s and get along with your sibling and do all your chores and never talk back and never act out or do anything bad. You have to do all your homework but still be in bed by 10:30 and falling asleep. THAT’S NOT POSSIBLE!
School) You have to watch your mouth, don’t talk back, participate when called on, always get the answer right. Always get your ridiculous amounts of homework done for all classes you’re taking. If you take advanced classes like I do, that means double the work and double the expectations. On top of that, if you do any extracurriculars you lose time from when you should be doing homework and you have even more work for those activities. And you’re still supposed to be in bed by 10:30. Again, THAT’S NOT POSSIBLE!
Boys) You have to look presentable every day, you can’t have stubbly legs/armpits. Now you’re even supposed to shave your lady hairs and that is a painfully tedious process. You have to be confident but you can’t be a bitch. You have to look nice but not like you’re trying too hard. You have to be smart but you can’t correct him all the time or be smarter than him. You have to let him do his thing while you sit back and try to learn how to read him, God forbid you say the wrong thing or react the wrong way. But most of all you cannot let him know how much you care, becasue commitment takes a while. I can’t think about all of this and make sure I’ve got it all ready for tomorrow and be in bed and ready to sleep by 10:30. THAT’S NOT POSSIBLE!
Society) You have to be smart and get all A’s, you have to be beautiful, you can’t wear makeup unless you can make it look natural becasue “natural” beauty is the best kind, you have to wear the right clothes, you have to be the model sibling/child, you have to respect your elders, you have to be fuking happy all the time, you have to hang out with the right people, and most of all: you have to look like it’s the easiest thing in the world to do all of that, in one day. THAT’S NOT POSSIBLE!
REALITY CHECK!: No child can be in bed by 10:30 when all of this is what they have to do or how they have to remember to behave in one day. NO actual human being is capable of being beautiful effortlessly every day. NO girl will always be smooth shaven and it’s a lot of work to shave them pesky lady hairs. NO student can possibly please every teacher and their parents rules all the time. NO student can always come to school as chipper and ready as you are Mrs. Teacher-lady. NO girls hair/ face will cooperate every single day. NO girl can be happy and ready to “take on the day” every day and IT’S NOT BECAUSE SHE’S ON HER PERIOD! NO person could fit into your perfect little cliques and be happy and themselves while doing so.
Conclusion: If everyone would just take a step back and see that everyone has their own things to handle and take care of, I wouldn’t have headaches every day, and I might be able to catch a breather every now and then. No person can live up to all of these daily expectations and requirements. For the sake of us normal people, Please, sit the fuck down with all of your expectations. Because some of us just can’t take it anymore.
THANKS FOR LISTENING :)
